Old employer trying to get me fired from new job..what can i do?

I am a healthcare provcider who has been happily working at a new job. AN old employer ( several jobs ago) who shares call with our office says he does not feel comfortable with me working in my new job which i have had for 6 months and that he just found out I am working in the new position ( and doing very well) My current emploer is not sure what to do about this new and unsolicited information

you need to get an attorney right now, this is highly illegal for them to do, do not contact the person who is doing this, you need to get an attorney NOW, don't even let your current employer know about it, once you have retained an attorney he will notify your current employer and want a copy of what was said or sent over, and he will contact the other parties involved, once both parties have been contacted you Will be safe on your current job from being fired, you better do this before they decide to let you go for some other reason, because of this!! do wait.

I'd consider it harassment. Write a letter to this person and tell them to stop contacting your employer. if they have actual recourse, they can take it up with the agency which issues your license.

Your current employer is free to keep you on staff if s/he so chooses, regardless of any mudslinger's opinion. Since you're doing so well, I suggest that your employer ask this other person to keep their opinions to themselves, as it isn't pertinent to the current situation.

This would come under the same heading as giving bad references. It is possible to resort by law. Anything your old employer says is covered by the libel and slander laws. I would write to him asking him to desist. If he does not, you do have recourse to law, contact an attorney and he can contact the former employer. I promise you that the harassment will stop then.
