Sharing the bathroom with a new guy at the office? |
The office only has one bathroom besides the bathroom in the boss' office ....I am a female and I have worked for this company for 1 year and me and the boss' wife are the only ladies in the office who use this bathroom recently the boss has hired a new guy who uses this bathroom now. There is a bathroom a couple more steps away out in the shop that all the other guys in the shop use. I was wondering if you think it is rude to ask him to go and use the bathroom in the shop considering the bathroom in the office has alway been considered to be the "ladies" bathroom? As long as the office bathroom has a door that locks, then I think it would be a bit rude to ask him to go to the other, especially if he works in a more white collar position than the blue collar guys in the shop. At any rate, it is not your call - I would leave this to your employer. If it isn't actually physical designated as a ladies room, it could very well be seen as rude. Perhaps the guy is shy and doesn't want to use the facilities near the shop. Have some sympathy and find something not so petty to fret over. I would have the boss's wife handle this. Not rude at all if it is only a few steps away. Then get a sign that says "Ladies" and put it on the door of your bathroom. what your too good to share the john with a guy?? Why should it be rude??? By keeping quiet you might be depriving him of male colleagues he can call friends! Try reversing the situation in your head and then act accordingly. How would you feel if you started a new job with one restroom in the facility and the two male workers there asked you to use a different restroom? I think that you would naturally be offended. What is the big deal anyway? Haven't you ever shared a bathroom with a man before, boyfriend, husband, brother, father? I know that men can be a little messier than the ladies in the restroom but I would think that this guy would keep things neat considering there are only two other people using the bathroom. there is no rude to tell him what you want.this is your right.i know its discussing.the best solution is to get a sign for"ladies "and put it on the bathroom door as long as he doesn't pee on the seat, don't worry. A lot of offices have only one bathroom. Besides, it's a petty issue and would not start out your business relationship with this man on a positive note. Say a male client needs to use the restroom which would you allow them to use, the bathroom in the shop or the one in the office? What I am getting at is that as long as your new co-worker is clean it shouldn't be such a big deal. From the sounds of it the restroom is a single room so as long as the door locks there is no worries of embarrassing 'walk-ins' We had a similar problem. So we bought restroom signs and clearly separated the men's from the women's. |
