Buying first notebook - thinking Apple but Desktop is a PC?

Morning everyone! I have a HP Multimedia for mydesktop but have been thinking of buying a Notebook computer for use on the main floor and if travelling. I have been intriqued by Apple for a while but just not sure as I have a few questions. Can the Office files from the Apple be shared with the HP? I have a new Fiji F200 and have bought my daughter a new Sony minidv cam - how easy are the video and graphics programs to work with and can these be shared with the PC once completed? I assume the wireless hub that I now have is compatible with the Apple (thinking of just buying the Apple MacBook 1.83GHz because of the price - I originally just planned on using the Notebook to surf and look up info w/o having to go upstairs but Apple has such a great graphic reputation that I thought maybe I should give it a try - although I have never done graphics before - os this a good computer to start on?

Everything on a mac is made to be as easy as possible to run, the wording and location of things takes a little getting used to but overall its alot more user friendly and stable then a windows based machine. The new macs have the intel processor which allows both windows and mac programs to be run on the same machine so everything you could think of is going to be compatible.....if you really want more info go to the mac site and look up the different models and faq's.

Any Apple OSX will run Windows Programs by design. The Apple is known for its speed, logevity and stable data capacity. The other isnt.
That is reason enough for me.
