Does anyone know if stuffing a fridge full of plastic bags...?

will have an effect on the performance of a refrigerator. I work in an office. Everyone on our floor shares a refrigerator. People bring all their stuff in in plastic grocery bags and stuff it in the fridge and it drives me nuts!!!!!! I once heard that this can cause the refrigerator's thermostat to malfunction. Just wondered if this was a fact and if you know of anywhere I could find facts about this that i could pass on?
I mean personally, I don't see why they can't just take the stuff outta the bag?

It has no effect on the fridges performance, but if it bugs you, tell your co-workers that it does!!

That has no effect on refrigerator performance. I think they are just afraid that if they take the food out of those bags then some low life in the office is going to see what they brought and steal it at lunchtime.

WELL THE FRIGDE GETS NASTY AND LOSTS OF PEOPLES HANDS GOING IN AND OUT IT'S NOT LIKE YOUR HOMR FRIDGE, KIND OF THE SAME REASON YOU USE THAT TOLIET SEAT THINGIE WHEN YOUR AT WORK BUT NOT AT HOME SAME IDEA APPLYS TO THE FRIDGE, AS FOR MALFUNTIONS THE ONLY WAY THAT WOULD HAPPEN IS IF THE BAGS COVERED THE INDUCTION UNIT INSIDE WHICH TENDS TO BE AT THE TOP BACK AND IS PRETTY HARD TO DO.....

hahah is that really an important question??? Come on they are in plastic bags to separate whos food it is.. Now you want to have a debate over plastic bags in a work refridgerator? I personally don't like onions in my referator as they make all the food spell like onions.. I guess I should ban all onions from work refridgerators too for MY personal preferences...\

I don't think it effect the performance of the fridge. I think this is just your pet peeve. And that is OK we are all allowed to have things that drive us crazy. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it. I like my stuff in a bag then i know that it is my yogurt and not someone elses.

Think of all the hands that have touched that lonely coke can while looking for a bag.

iT CANT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS. aS SAID ABOVE: The therostat and induction vents are put high or where they are not going to be bothered -- the manufacturers are way ahead of you!
People put their stuff in bags to keep others from "mistakenly" eating their stuff!!! As people will PILPHER others food if it's not in a bag -- personally I tie a strong knot in the top of my bag as i lost too many good things and went hungry due to people too lazy to get up early enough to prepare their own lunches !!!
aND why are you worried about it? Do you have to repair the fridge if it breaks or buy a new one??? I dont think so, Madame.
