Do you have to wait in line for a long time when getting married at city hall in New York City? |
I'm wondering if there is a danger of waiting in a long line and then getting turned away because the office is closing. Can anyone share their experience of getting married at city hall in NYC with regards to time of day, day of the week and how long you waited? I didnt get married there, but when we got our license it took FOREVER. We were in line for at least an hour before we sat down with the lady and then that took a while. But are you sure that you can get married the same day as you apply for your license? I feel like we had to wait about 3 days before we were married. I think you make an appointment to be married with the JoP, so you wont be turned away. I remember a girl in a wedding dress and I dont recall her being in line with us, thats why I think its an appointment thing instead of a wait in line thing. However, I just asked my husband and he thinks you go right in. But anyway, yes the line was long and it took a while. Go in the morning, you have a better chance of not being turned away the earlier you go. |
