Do women who work together in the same office tend to find that their cycles eventually align?

I worked in an office with 80 women, all on the same floor, sharing cubicles. I was always curious about this, but was afraid to ask.

yes. I find it very strange. I work with the same girl everyday and since I got on birth control her cycle is getting closer to mine every month. I wish it didn't work that way b/c its really hard to get along when we are both PMSing at the same time.

In a 1971 article in "Nature", M. K. McClintock provided hard research to confirm what women had long claimed: women who live together tend to have synchronous cycles.

Subsequent researchers have corroborated McClintock's findings. Nobody can explain the phenomenon yet, but many possible explanations have been eliminated.

It is well known that women that spend large amounts of time together eventually end up with the same menstrual cycles. IE. a mother and a daughter. This goes back to the beginning of time, it made it easier for male to breed with as many females as possible and have a higher percentage of fertilization's.
