If you had food and wanted to share where would you go to share it with someone who need food for the holiday? |
my pantry is full i have morer then enough for me and 4 morer people i would like to help someone in need of food4 the holiday? where do you think i should go to find someone to share my food with do you think the food pantry or walfare office? Find out if your church or local food pantry will take the extra food. You could also contact meals on wheels or local hospice care & see if there is a family or individual who could use a home cooked meal this holiday. You can contact the chamber of commerce or health and welfare. Also try foodbanks. I would like to say that your generosity and care for others is impressive! Good for you! Pat yourself on the back for having the thought and for saying something about it where it might give others the idea to follow in your footsteps. Even if only one person or family is helped, it is a wonderful thing! Thank You!!!!!! I believe all the churches keep lists of persons who are needy in one way or another. That's one place you can start. Happy giving! On Thanksgiving morning we have gone to the "seeder" parts of our city. I quarantee that if you ride around for a very short period of time you will see many prospects on the streets, women with kids walking, looking down trodden etc,. A short conversation will reveal if that person needs help. I have even flagged down a patrol officer, who knew a lot of residents in this area . He put me onto a family immediatly. Depending on where you live the St. Anthony's organization does and outstanding job feeding the homeless and hungry all year and would love to have another person like yourself to help our there mission. We used to donate food, money and time to them when I lived at home. I know they have nationwide locations but probably cannot be in every community. If you can't find them try contacting Catholic Charities and they can refer you to a similar program. Just because they are both Catholic run programs does not mean it is for Catholic's only, it is just a religion that has been in the business of feeding needy people and families for many generations now. Thank you for being one of the few people that truly see's what Thanksgiving is really about. You sharing with an open heart is something that is outstanding and sadly rare anymore. Keep up the kindness there are millions of people in need all year, not just during the holiday season. |
