how can i share my ip so i can access my files at home from the office?

There are a few sites that have this service. http://www.gotomypc.com is quite popular.

I use http://www.logmein.com because they have a totally free version, it does not have all the features the paid does but it has everything I need.

It is called a VPN, it is free with Linux. Ubuntu 6.10 Server comes with it built in. Its free. Its stable and it works.

If you are using a DSL or the like with a router, you can set your router for a static IP which will pass the IP of the DSL to the computer connected that you choose.

Also if you have xp pro has the ability to do this. I believe it's called "remote desktop"

I would search for your router manual for static IP and/or maybe lookup remote desktop if you have xp pro (not home)
