In your opinion, who should get more credit?

OK...This is a philosophical question....Who should get more credit---the person with the idea, or the person(s) who carries out the plan and makes the concept or idea a reality. As an example, supposing an architect comes up with a concept, but more practical architects working in the same office take the conceptual vision and bring it to an actual building----should they share in the accolades? Or, as another example, supposing a person comes up with the idea of a surprise birthday party for a loved one, but others do all the legwork in bring the idea to life---should the credit be shared equally??

About the party - hmm? you can share, no problem! After all, if they all worked together for A FRIEND, why not?

About a good idea, a new concept etc - at work....well, all the credit is taken by the SMART ONE, who REGISTER the mark, the patent...
LAW gives him all the rights!

Your scenario sounds very much like teamwork. And yes, the credit should be shared equally but, unfortunately, often in business and life that's not the case.

It depends, if the person who gets the party is happy about it, then definitely the credit should be shared equally. However, if the person is not happy, then the one with the original idea gets all of the blame... um... credit.

Dane Lover, are you my sister?

ideas are great but if no one does anything with the idea than the good idea was useless.
the people that do all the work should get the majority of the credit. the person who had the idea should be mentioned but not get much credit.

I think credit should be shared equally, since all parties concerned contributed in such a way that the result wouldn't have come about without them. You can have all the great ideas in the world, but it means nothing if they stay on the drawing board. You can be willing to do all sorts of leg work, but it means nothing if you don't have an assignment to carry out. Everyone was needed, so everyone should get the credit.

It should be equally shared, the architect idea

The surprise party well honestly it should the people who brought the idea to life. Just cause you think it doesn't mean you deserve the credit. Its like the man who thought of roller blades.....but the man that put the idea into motion got the credit. The leg-workers should get the credit, at least 90% of the credit. Besides the person who B-Day it is isnt going to ask "so who do I acredit this to" they'll just be so happy it was even done.

That depends, if it was my idea and someone else did the work, I would still want the credit. If it was someone else's idea and I did all the work, well then yeah I still want the credit. Hello dog eat dog world, it's all about the me.
