Internet sharing between two computers via Bluetooth.?

I have a desktop running WinXP which is connected to the office internet via LAN Broadband (i.e. the internet connection is through a LAN cable). I have a personal laptop running WinXP through which I want to share the internet connection of the desktop via Bluetooth.

I have 2 blueetooth adaptors - one each for the desktop and the laptop. I could set up a PAN connection between them but don't know how to access the desktop's internet connection. Also I dont want the network guys in the network monitoring department to notice anything. I dont know if my laptop will obtain a new IP address etc which could be easily detected. Is this possible ?

You would need to set up internet connection sharing on the desktop. Since this is probably a company machine, this will breach your terms of employment. If you try to use this it will show on the server logs.

You can share your local area connection from your network connections in your control panel. Just right click and share or you could setup a bridge connection.

Either way though you are going to get another IP address on the laptop so your network guys will be able to see there is a computer there if they look at there network logs.

Also unless you dont plan on moveing your laptop more then 15 feet from your desktop you may want to think about WIFI, as bluetooth is not a very reliable connection.
