I have the most amazing guy friend, and I think I'm falling in love with him. What do I do?

So, we used to work together, and we had so much fun together we weren't allowed in each other's office! Neither of us work there anymore, and we've stayed great friends, and even went to Vegas and spent Christmas together. I'm 38 and he's 26 and we're both zany and goofy. We talk about everything, including our sex lives, both good and bad, and we tell each other we love each other when we hang up the phone. I'm struggling with the fact that I think he's perfect in so many ways, but he likes these young 20-somethings that weigh 60 lbs., and I'm neither! He tells me that he's cuddled with some of his friends that are girls and made out with some, and I want some of that action. But he's never made any statement or move towards more than friendship. We've shared hotel rooms but never dated or kissed or anything. Our mutual friends think we're both goofy and kid me about having a crush on him...if they only knew! What do I do?

Are you willing to just be friends with him forever? If not, tell him how you feel.

Tell him. If you're that close anyway then even if he doesn't feel the same as you do the relationship shouldn't be damaged in any irreparable way. If he should reject your romantic feelings the friendship may be a bit awkward for a time but, since you said you're such good friends, I'm sure you'll find that things will be back to normal reasonably fast.

He may not have mentioned feeling the same way you do because you're older than he is and he may think you're uninterested in someone his age. Or he may think that you'd give him the old "I don't want to ruin our friendship" line. Or, possibly, he's just not interested but you'll never know if you don't ask.

Ask him how does he feel about taking things further, cause he seems like he could be a great catch. Whatever you do, just don't let the chance go by without at least testing out the waters!
