How can a man tell you he has deep feelings for you, when he knows he loves someone else?

We met at work, I didn't really notice him at first. Then he began frequenting my office. We would have short funny conversations...he did tell me up front he was involved. And I was cool with that, I wasn't trying to get involved. We began spending time together doing things...going to the park to play flag football, going to the shore, going to the airport to watch the plans arrive and depart, he cooked breakfast for me, he baked oatmeal raisin cookies for me for my birthday, he met my family, he met my son, but all the while we were "just friends". Yes, we shared kisses and caresses, he told me he loved me, we never slept together, and I assumed that was because of the girlfriend, she is returning from Atlanta after being there on a job for the past two months. So he drops the bomb on me this weekend to tell me he has decided to move in with her, but he still wants to be friends, and continue on the way we were. But I've walked away, I can't do that, I just want to know...

This particular question can be answered in many different ways, but I am just going to say that men are dogs and they tug, push, and pull at women until we can no longer take it. You were very strong to walk away. I haven't been able to walk away from my "just friends" relationship yet and it is killing me. So yyyaaaahhh to you, gurl

It's obvious he likes you, but he don't want to hurt his girlfriend. Do you really really like him? If you do then sometimes you just can't be some one's friend so he needs to choose
