100% fake. I think its called a 419 scam... named after the section of the Nigerian code that it violates. Here is a link to snopes.

http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/nigeri...

fake

Its a scam, its fake. kick it to your spam folder, and hit delete. Everyone gets the same spam mail.

It's all BULL **** I think you already know that. It's nice to dream...don't get caught up in a scam.

FAKE Don't bother

i've gotten about a billion of those. spam 'em. they're fake. or if they're not, i'm ignoring the fact that i won about a trillion dollars and all i have to do is give my name, age, and social security number to people i don't know.

how do you win something without having a ticket for playing in it ?

is fake . just delete the mail and forget about it.

What led you to open this?

like ya, if it sounds to good to be true, then it is a fake,
all they want is your bank acct # so they can clean you out.

Well unless you actually remember buying a lotto and giving your email on it... It is fake

Most likely a fake, but hey, can it hurt to call them? Not really. Just ring them and see whats up. If its a scam they'll hang up in a hurry. I noticed there was a lot of incorrect grammer also in the email.. Fishy.

fake, but if you really want to check, look up the number for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games and they will tell you for sure. dont use the number in the email.

oh yeah, this is real ! Congrats buddy..i just hope you can contact them before one of the people to whom you've just given all the crucial info they need to steal your winnings! LOL... it WAS real, but you might have it all taken away from you now !!! Oh boy, you'd better hurry !!!

I have a bridge for sale.

Merry Christmas!

Most of these emails are FAKE and really are just SPAM. If you don't remember entering an online lottery then you can't really win one in the first place right? Just delete it and spend the rest of the day day-dreaming what if you really won a lottery. =D

not sure. sounds real enough..... do you remember entering? try contacting them...don't get your hopes up, because i entered poetry.com and apparently won all this *$&^ but it's just a scam, it wanted me to PAY for what i "won" and they stole my poems!! :(

Totally fake! ?But if you get it can I have some?

without participation if you win a lottery .................BEWARE

Dude...did you buy a lottery ticket? I'll bet you didn't.
Note that he wants you to keep your winnings secret--don't tell anyone who might tell you its a scam. Real lotteries ask you to appear on TV, some pay you extra for doing so.
This guy is fishing for your bank account or credit card number; then he'll print checks with your bank number and overdraw you a lot. In a foreign country. Where there are no laws to get your money back.

Don't call, don't answer back at all!!!!!!!!!!! Just delete it!!! It's a spam!

I didn't feel bothered to read it all, bit it sounds too good to be true.

Anyway, in case you don't have anything to lose, contact them... At least, you will know what is behind all that...

SCAM!

I've "won" the Canadian/Ireland/England/Yahoo/Microsoft... any other "lottery" they can come up with...SCAM

Didn't read it, but pretty sure its fake. Did you sign up for or buy a ticket for this lottery? Didn't think so. You could try responding, and see how much money they want to charge you to process your "winnings", something no lottery does.

Congratulations
By opening that email and reading it youve probably put a nice big fat piece of spyware somewhere on your computer.
And if it was phishing software ....... everyone in your address book has it by now as well.
Isnt the first thing youre taught when you buy a pc ...... to not open emails from people you dont know?

This is most definitely a scam. They send you e-mail or snail mail saying that you won the international lottery, then they tell you to wire them a portion of it back to cover taxes. They usually send you a large check and tell you to cash it. There may even be a "verification number" on the check or in the letter. If you call, they will tell you it's a good check, but of course it's not. DO NOT CASH IT!!! Report them!!! If you get any kind of unsolicited mail from the UK, Canada, or Nigeria, DO NOT RESPOND. REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Good rule of thumb, if it sounds too good to be true, IT IS!!!!!

FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.
Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

1. If you do win a lottery, you have to enter it first. Did you?
2. Winners are not notified by email. In fact, winners are not notified at all, You have to check your ticket against the numbers and call them.
3. The typographical errors in the email point to amateurs doing a scam, with poor understanding of English.

Absolute total BUNK! Any email from a supposed lottery (especially one that you havent actually purchased a ticket for) is going to be a phishing scam looking for your personal information. Don't even think about it.

fake
