This is a SCAM. Yahoo do not operate any lottery or give away any cash prizes. Check out this website for confirmation of various SCAMS including the famous Yahoo/MSN lottery scam and how to report these scams to Yahoo.

Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Just remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. I suggest you delete the email and send it into cyberspace, hopefully along with the thieving scumbags who send them.

Sorry to have to tell you but it is not real, there is no such lottery, you are being scammed.

I get these all the time!!

DELETE THEM!!!!!!!!
scam...scam...scam...scam

YAHOO LOTTERY IT'S A SCAM. IT'S A SCAM IT'S A SCAM
SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Nope, and you will be asked to tell them your bank account number so that they can deposit your funds - YEAH RIGHT!!

its a scam, all those kinsd of emails are. don't reply to it and report it as spam

1 word. SCAM

If something sounds to good to be true thats because it is. If you have not entered a competition you cant win one.

I was going to write and point out why you can tell it is a scam, but just trust me - scam and delete it. Do a search on Yahoo Answers for "Yahoo Lottery" and you will see this question asked time and again - either Yahoo are going to go bankrupt giving away 拢拢 millions every week or the mails are scams... wonder which.

Oh, a few pointers for future reference:
They are asking you for your contact details (NEVER give people who contact you your contact details - they contact you and should have them!)

Simple google map search on the address - no address listed in google - and a large company like Yahoo would use an address that can be found inthe interent.

You never entered the competition

Have you ever seen an advert for the Yahoo lottery? No, so why would they run it - 5,000,000 is a lot to give away and get nothing back in return

The e-mail is (according to MS Word..) gramatically correct, its just not quite written in English

one word.....spam.ignore and delete mark as spam.Yahoo dont run lotteries.
