Neighbors dogs breaking fence, what to do?

Friend has one yr old fixed female looks like a Weimaraner.

Her neighbor has 3 labs. 2 large, muscular golden labs. 1 young black lab instigates exploration into friends yard by breaking thru the old fence by loosening the boards, breaking holes, etc.

Black dog has been found in the pool before & had to be retrieved by friend who returned them safely numerous times to an ungrateful neighbor. Neighbor called the subdivision office who came out while friend was at work & gave notice she had to fix the fence but the fence is a shared fence (no survey done yet for proof). No response to her messages.

The dogs came over yet again and this time she wanted them off her property & did not return them to neighbors backyard. Neighbor called police on friend but they couldn't do anything. Dogs were found. Neighbor takes no responsibility, blames friend.

What to do? Options? Rights?

Shoot the dog when it comes on the other persons property as long as no one is watching.from the house is good from a window.or fix the darn fence.

Small claims court if they don't pay.

I would first go and talk to the dog owner and see if you can't reach some kind of agreement. If not then contact animal control whenever the dog is found in the other yard. Animal control will pick up the dog and the owner will have to pay a fee to get the dog back.

OK - why is friend waiting to fine out who owns the fence???
Title documents general show land boundries and who owns what when you settle on a house.
WHOever owns the fence - fix it or get the city to tell the owner to fix it. Or your friend can run link fence up agaist the broken fence and the dogs can run into it. A roll of 50 feet is not too exspense. Also the dogs will not get hurt on the chain link as it is not sharp nor can they chew thru it.

Dude whatever that can be done must be done as long as it does not involve harming the animals.I love dogs and they don't really understand what they are doing -to them it is just an adventure at the neighbor's expense.As this situation has become quite taxing and the useless waste of skin and space pet owner who should be shot and pissed on does not take responsibility for her lack of responsibility then I would say to help the neighbor re build the fence on their own after serving a written notice of said action.If the neighbor does not respond then build the fence and take them to court.Have all documentations and time,dates,bill for material and labor if necessary-which probably would be a good idea if the work was contracted out in case the pet owner decides to cause some kind of fuss if the neighbor was working by them selves.Some people just like to cause problems.When rebuilding the fence be sure to re-enforce the bottom part maybe pour concrete or cement in a box for a base maybe 4-5' high like a barricade so the dogs can no longer tunnel and put boards on top so it will resemble a fence-just a thought.I hate people such as the pet owner-stupidbitch.-Anyhow that's all I can come up with for now but whatever gets done please don't harm the doogies.thankz-peace.Riz>...
