Help! Computer guys, Small Home Network issue, driving me NUTS!!! Keeps closing connection.?

I recently added a second computer to my home office, and I set them up to share files over a local, wireless network connection. I pretty much improvised my way through it, but it ended up working.....except that now, my connection to the internet keeps closing on both machines, and VERY often. I hit the Wireless Connection "Repair" button, and it goes through its thing, then I'm fine for another little while, maybe 10-15 minutes, but this is ridiculous! Any idea what I did wrong, or what I can do to fix this? Please help! I'm running XP, SP2 on both, I have a Linksys & a Belkin router, both wireless, and both lack USB ports. I've tried with each router for both computers, and I've tried one router for each computer....same issue. Thanks in advance! Please enable your email, in case I might need to clarify anything. You only need one router in a network, and a wireless card in the one computer not directly connected to the router. that will help.

so.... cable/dsl ---> Router ----> (wired) to computer 1
------> (wireless) to computer 2

Select one of your routers. Connect the router WAN or uplink port to your modem (you did not say cable or dsl) Connect 1 machine to your router, then run your cable or dsl providers setup. It may require you to 'clone' your PC MAC address onto the router, read the instructions. Once the first is set, then connect your second machine, and make sure you get a different IP address (start-->run-->cmd<enter> ipconfig /all)

Hmmmmm, it sounds to me like a router installation issue. I would either go to each router's web site and look for help or phone each one for help. Trying to figure out router installations by myself has been disasterous. I think one router is competing with the outher, a conflict occurs, and they both shut down on you. This is the best I can offer...good luck!
