Networking desktop applications.?

I have two Compaq desktop computers that I network. I have one upstairs and one downstairs. I have MS Office on the one downstairs and I want to share say MS Word with the Compaq upstairs how do I do this???

Talking from memory but you have to create a file called msi. Then execute that file and will start the installation, it will be much better to install the software in both places.

Although this is not recommended, as it will create a security vulnerability in a home networking environment, you can create a remote desktop connection to the PC with Office installed. This will allow you to use the application from the other PC, but you will need to save any output files in a shared location if you want to easily access these files from either node.

You might also consider PC Anywhere as an alternative off the shelf product to accomplish this task.

Office doesn't work that way. You would need to install your office CD onto your networked computer.

It will not run remotely, you need to run a full install on the second machine. If this is a version of office requiring activation you can not use it on 2 machines anyway.
