I want to get a job at age12?

My mom is third in charge for a company as office manager and stuff like that. I'm 12 years old ( I share this account with my mother), with the intelligence and knowledge of a 20+ year old, as people tell me. I want to work for/with her filing and other things that aren't too much for me in the summer. I live in Wisconsin. The company would be paying me if I work there. I haven't asked yetbecauseI need to know if it's legal. the President of the company is a good friend of my mom's and my best friend's dad. He said he'd hire me in an instant a while back, but Ithink hewas justsaying that cause he thinks I'm really smart, so I don't know. I need to know if this is all legal cause I really want a job. And if it isn't, could I make a court case about it? I don't want to babysit or work on a farm or anything... just wanna be an intern. Thanks!

Labor laws are different for different ages 12 13 14 and so on call you local job service and ask them.

Until you're 15 or so, you can only work at a family-owned company or do odd jobs for cash under the table.

I'm in agreement about the labor laws for 12-14 yr olds. You need to talk to your teacher or guidance counselor at school to find out what county agency issues work permits. Then, talk to Mom to see what she can do. Have fun & do your Mom proud!!
