Who can i contact concerning my daughters sexual assault? the County it happened in wont do anything.?

I am writing to You today for help and direction. My Daughter who was 11 yrs old at the time was sexual assualted in Oct 2004 while on a court ordered visit to her father. Her father was not the perpertrator. However during this time I have plead with all officails and have been at the disposal for all questions . Which did not come until we contacted the Comptrollers office and they was kind enough to help us. The Investigator at the office investigated the crime and felt there was enough to arrest the defendent . I went to Austin and met with Him as well as met Him proir to His investigation . He went and delivered all evidence and Material to Liberty County for as before each time they was sent the packet it was *lost*...I recieve no contact from the Liberty Officails . I call daily to the DA's office . He finally spoke with me Yesterday but sounded very upset over us having contacted as He stated it *everyone and their grandmother*...I drove over 300 miles January 30th so they could reinterview my child as well as my son who at the time lived at the home the crime was comitted in. My daughter was taped interview and still 14 months after the crime she is still naming the same predator as her attacker. My son testified to the fact the predator was sharing a room with Him and on that night was up and down and the times consiencides with the time the assault took place. The detective who interviewed me seemed very interest in my husaband now and went as far as letting me know He felt as though my husband is the perpertrator. And He also stated that my daughter was assualted but didnt think that it happened in Liberty County. I feel that because we forced this case on a county who does not prosecute their juveniles they are angry and want to put the blame elsewhere. My daughter attends group counseling on Mondays and she is to egin one on one counseling in March. There is much to this case I can provide You if You are able to help . I am a Mother to the child and daily I watch and see the scars and pain this has brought to her life. She will never be the same and in seeing her suffer my heart stays heavy . I understand that this crime is not one that would get the death sentence . However I feel it should at least be recognized as a crime . I never thought this could happen to my child and did all the extra things to prevent it but I sit today striving to understand How could a person devastae a little girl as He did mine. I may never have the answer to this but I do not want this to happen to another child ever . This predator has left my child broken and scared with memorys of her attack that will forever haunt her. I am still able to reach out and hold and sooth her as she weeps . If this person is not stopped the next victim He sets His sights upon may not be as lucky . I have read where predators began as a teen and as times progresses so does their extend of the crime . Where he has left my child scared the next one may very well be in a road ditch dead. I feel that my childs rights has been violated in many ways during this . I could go on and on but I will stop at this. If there is anyway You are if You know of anyone who can help us find justice for my precious daughter please help us.

You might try the Center for Missing/Exploited children. You can try to get the State Police involved. Since it happened in Texas, or so it seems, maybe try the Texas Rangers.

I send my condolences, I understand the pain involved in this situation. I myself have experienced a similar case of sexual abuse, as well as a close family member.

Have you tried to contact any orginizations for such instances of sexual abuse? They might be able to provide you with the resources nessisary to seek justice.

It is often tough for inididuals to make a difference in such a cause, and most often their voices are not heard. I would suggest speaking to them or perhaps speak to a lawyer. Sadly, the threat of legal action may prompt officials to do their JOB.

You can also write letters to the state congressmen or state senator. They might be able to take action to assist you.

But I would definatly suggest contacting an orginization that might have the better know-how for this kind of issue.
