Can I have both a domain and a workgroup on a computer? |
I have a computer (Win XP) configured to office domain settings. At home I need to connect to my home workgroup to share files between machines. Is there a way I can do this? You can only have one or the other, the simplest answer is to use the same name for your workgroup as the office domain. You can then simply select login to this computer at home without upsetting the domain login. use alternate ip address and make sure use same workgroup team u can also employ a new network card and assign alternate ip adrressing u can log in locally to the pc and then share ur files or folders accross the computers in the home |
