I wasn't confused by your answer Rachel. I agree that the physical sense are a limited tool for understanding reality (Einstein would never have made it out of the patent office if he'd relied on them alone).

But why J*h*w*h? There are many other faiths far more benign for seeking truth. One need not dispense with learning from Jesus what he had to share on love and how to treat others.

But considering the political nature of choosing the books in the bible, how can you use them as gospel when they were chosen to support Caesar's claims to rule the empire (recall that 'divine right of kings' shtick in one of Paul's epistles).

What is so compelling about Christianity that despite the stuffr I listed in my earlier question you still feel the need to claim it is authentic (and presumably all others are not)?

Memory: every time I read one of your answers my heart just aches for you. I think more of us would warm up to you (& I'd like that) if you could share with us your story.

I hardly cared for Christianity as i was growing up, all that i swallowed from it was how to live my life. "Do unto other as you would have them do unto you" "Help your neighbors" "Turn your cheek"...etc etc etc. Backed up with a belief in God, but that was only recently. But i figured thats all that would matter to God, be a good person and have faith that He is there to help us to do the right thing.

Every other religion, from what i've learned, teach basically the same things cept Buddhism, and i always found this interesting, teaches impermenance, "All good things come to and end but so do all bad things" so when i'm in a bad phase of my life, i know it will eventually come to an end.

As for my story... it's really not that important.

I know non-Christians hate this answer but it's true....
