Reiki Circles in San Antonio Texas - What's missing?

I have been teaching Reiki since 1995 and my students and I started groups over and over again. Everything goes fantastic for a while with 30 or more people attending then everything fades away.
I started another circle at the college two years ago with more events to grab attention and the people attending increased and the circles went on for a while. But then we had to change location to a local park area during the spring of last year. When summer came it was impossible to do the Reiki Share circles due to an overwhelming amount of rain).
I moved the event to an office and only a couple of people showed up but none of the regulars.. What's happening..
I advertise, post email's everything, but they all have other things now.
ANY IDEAS on Getting everyone involved and excited about
the events again? Maybe I just wait until next year to start again?? YES??

Actually this is very common. It is the ebb and flow of life.

You will find that some people still are working with Reiki but because of lack of time and/or wanting to go inwards, they slack off on coming to the Reiki Shares/Circles.

I think we tend to forget that Reiki isn't just a healing system, it is an enlightenment system, and as such sometimes what you need to do is leave the circle and stretch your wings and fly on your own. Sometimes you have to go inwards and be a more solitary person for a bit of time. That doesn't mean that they can not come back, some do.

I think it is also teaching those who teach Reiki that you are teaching and then must let those who have come to you fly on their own. Be there if they need you, but let them soar.

It can also be the distance for traveling for some that is a problem. Or it can be the location that isn't conducive for them to really just Be Reiki.

I also notice that during the holidays when is when many will choose to be with family and friends and attendance is lower at that time.

Sometimes after coming to the Reiki Share/Circle things are just too intense for an individual when they are releasing old blockages, etc. and they need a break to intergrate it all and release what needs to be released. And if it was an exceptionally intense cleansing period after a session, they may need time off, or they may not wish to continue because it was so intense.

Sometimes lack of attendance is when someone is content to stay where they are at at the moment. And if they know Reiki and how it can work, there is always a chance that they are not ready to move onto the next level of healing and/or enlightenment.

Personally, unless there is anyone who really wants to continue with the Reiki Share/Circle I would put it off until after the holidays and the first of the new year.

I have studied this method as practiced in India for many years now. The same pattern is repeating here. I have not found any improvement in any of the participants. Quite a few of the teachers themselves are unable to derive any benefit.

I believe that Reiki does not work as claimed. It seems to be a matter of faith. It may benefit some because of auto suggestion.

Hi Carolyn! It's Shawn from the Texas Reiki Institute in Houston. We have the same problem. We have a group of about 10 dedicated members, and others just come and go. I've found that it builds up and then slacks off, sometimes two or three times a year. I feel fortunate if we get one or two a year to become members. I wish that more would stay and share Reiki with others, but they may not be ready in their life, or it may not be their direction to travel on. I just trust that the Universe will guide them and us as it sees fit. It also seems to be this time of year. Although we still have our weekly shares, I am holding off on classes until next year. I think it would be great if all the Reiki practitioners across the state could come together for an event. That would be an awsome way to kick off the year.

I have taken Reiki 1, and 2 on line, but i want to go the other two degrees , 2 and 3 in person, i belong to a on-line reiki group also, but i also drift away every so often, seldom join in on the Reiki circle, as i would like to, it is just a matter of having time and other things getting in the way, of enlightenment, but i feel at least people are awakening to the possibilities, and the more they explore the universe and all of its possibilities the better they will grow, Reiki is like a stepping stone, but a wonderful one, so don't get disheartened they will come back, sooner or later.
