My doctor just quit the pratice I go to!? |
Im not sure what to do... I just got a phone call from a friend of mine, she and I share a due date, we go to the same practice and they schedule appointments with the other doctors so we will get to know them all. Well her regular doctor is dif than mine but she ran into my doctor today and told him she has a appoinment with him in a couple of weeks and he told her he wont be there because he got a better offer at a hospital out of state. But we don't think she was sopposed to tell me (she knows him personally as well as in the office) so my question is what should I do? Should I call the office and see what they have to say? Im kinda freaked out right now. I am 15 weeks pregnant. We also have another friend that is further along (7 months) and he is also her doctor, I can't imagine what she is feeling right now! Find another experienced doctor.. It's good that you're still early in your pregnancy.. Don't stress out about it.. Just do your research and find another doc Call the doctors office, tell them what you heard to confirm and ask them for a recomendation for a new doctor. Remember to get your records as well or sign a paper they have there to have your records transferred to your new doctor. This sort of thing happens more frequently than you would think. If you are only 15 weeks you have ample time to get acquainted with another doctor in the practice. As a matter of fact, since, as you noted, you would have been meeting all of them anyhow (in case one of them ends up delivering your baby), that will be a great opportunity to assess which one you would like to continue with after your baby is born. |
