Do you believe in angels?

may I share with you from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and then here what YOU have to say:

"The existence of angels鈥攁 truth of faith"

CCC 328 - The existence of the spiritual, non-corporeal beings that Sacred Scripture usually calls "angels" is a truth of faith. The witness of Scripture is as clear as the unanimity of Tradition.

Who are they?

CCC 329 - St. Augustine says: "'Angel' is the name of their office, not of their nature. If you seek the name of their nature, it is 鈥榮pirit'; if you seek the name of their office, it is 鈥榓ngel': from what they are, 鈥榮pirit,' from what they do, 鈥榓ngel.'" With their whole beings the angels are servants and messengers of God. Because they "always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven" they are the "mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word."

CCC 330 - As purely spiritual creatures angels have intelligence and will: they are personal and immortal creatures, surpassing in perfection all visible creatures, as the splendor of their glory bears witness.

Yes, I do believe in Angels...they are God soldiers *that's what I think* Like when The Angel Gabriel came to the Virgin Mary...he's an Angel, and he fought Lucifer in the battle in heaven.

Angels are God鈥檚 messengers they go forth and do God鈥檚 will, they are like warriors for God.

I do...and I didn't need the Catechism to tell me so. I, however looked at my copy of the CCC and read the words, and Indeed you quote well...however I think I beleive because of other reasons, not just because as a Catholic I am supposed to. I believe in Guardian Angels, and Angels of life, death and all. I loved the portrayal of Angels in the show "Touched by an Angel". I hope there really is an escort when I die.

I have always wondered who wrote the Catechism? I mean why don't Catholics just use the Word of God the Bible. It clearly states what Angels are. And who are all these Saints? Where did they come from. Any born again believer is a Saint. The Bible clearly states that it is the one and only true Word of God.

As we read from Genesis, not all of the angels are benevolent! According to Genesis, there are those angels that fornicated with women, and produced 'giant' offspring. Once known for his beauty and form, Lucifer's pride became his undoing and demise as an angel of God [from Isaiah]. Why the catechism does not include this in the statement you shared is beyond me. Perhaps you can also share some thoughts on this matter...

Angels appear in various conflicting versions. They change shapes and properties with each different story.
