Has anyone used a buffer for discontinuation of sertraline? I cant get off the last 25mg dose without problems

I have been trying to come off Zoloft for the last 3 months. I am on the last 25mg dosage (every second day) but experience head spins & vertigo problems, when i let it go to 3 days between tablets. Anyone know how long the side effects last, should I just deal with it for a day or two, or will it last a week or more??
Has anyone used a natural buffer to help ease the side effects of discontinuation? what were they? did they help? what about St Johns Wart?
My GP handed them to me when I was diagnosed with post natal depression & has given little advice since. I'm almost convinced that these GP's have shares in these companies because I was handed free samples, then and there in the GP's office (enough to get me dependent) and was told very little about the dependency and addictiveness of the drug. Any information would help.

I think St Johns Wort acts adversely with all or most anti-depressants.Check with your doc or pharmacist before you mix anything.

See if he can get you samples. I have not heard of Zoloft being addictive. I mean where you crave it or have life threatening withdrawal. 25mg is a low dose. Did your doctor just sayto stop now and the unpleasant effects will go away? If so, he's probably right.

Its best to work this out with the doc that prescribed you the Zoloft in the first place. Best wishes.
