Why do people automatically assume I hate Republicans?

I think it's interesting how people just start talking politics and get in my face about how we all hate Bush without asking me how I feel.

It seems that if you don't share their views you are a stupid redneck.

I'm from NY. A BLUE state. I hate liberals. They have destroyed this country, long before BUSH got into office.

It has become impossible to speak out in this country without being warehoused and labeled. I am an independent. I not completely happy, or completely distressed by either side. They both have strong and weak points. If I post something that Republicans don't like I am a libtard. If I post something the Democrats don't like I am a NeoCon or stupid Republican. Politically we are in a sad state in this country and a simple change of leadership is not going to change that. We need new blood, new ideas and a genuine desire to reach across the aisle to the benefit of all. Unfortunately, we just aren't going to get it.

The republicans have a good record in some areas and a dismal one in others. The same was true when the Democrats ran things. My opinion is that the best government is one that is balanced with no one party in control of everything. I think there is a possibility that this is what we will get in November. The Democrats have a real chance of winning the House, but not the Senate. We will see what happens. In the meantime all I can say is just ignore those who seek to label you. I cherish good arguments, but completely discount partisan labeling and name calling from both sides as unworthy of consideration. Want me to vote for your side, convince me of why your side is better for me because this is what is not happening in our political debate in general.

The fact that you are from New York doesnt mean if you are liberal or conservative. Your political view has nothing to do where you are from

I'm from a red State and would suggest to you to ignore those ignorant people you mentioned in your question.
If they would only look at the election map of NY State, county by county they would see that most of NY was red in 2004, but the large population centers were blue.

I agree with Dayana. Furthermore, who the hell cares if you hate liberals? Hating someone takes too much energy and is not worth the effort.

I'm a UP-STATE Conservative New Yorker, Red County in a Blue State. I don't hate Liberals, but I agree that they are the main cause for industry leaving American shores and the down fall of the American economy and social order.

Too many taxes, too many give away programs. Too many restrictions on trying to start a business. Taking my hard earned money to pay for a fat and lazy. To soft on crime. Restricting the law abiding while coddling the criminal.
