Do ports on a switch see each other?

In my office I am setting up a print server for our printers.
I currently have the network connection coming into a switch, into which the server and 4 printers are plugged. I am having trouble getting the server to see the printers, I would like to host them using a TCP/IP Port, with an assigned IP address.

I need to know if individual ports on a switch can see each other.

If you are in the mood to provide any insight as to getting the server to see the printers, please share.

More detail would help, like the manufacturer/model of the switch.

By default, switch ports usually are assigned to the same VLAN and all can 'see' each other. Assign all connected devices an IP address on the same subnet, then ping each other. If the ping responds, then you just need to configure your application properly. If it doesn't respond, you may have a L2/L3 issue like your addresses aren't assigned correctly or a cable is bad.

okay...almost all switchess, by default, have all their ports in the same broadcast domain- so yes- any computer would be able to communicate with any other computer on the same switch.
