My husband does not get his mail delivered to our home.?

We were married in August of last year. After the first few months I understood, but he continued going to his mom's house to pick up his mail. I offered to go to the post office and make the change for him and he said if I change his address he'll change it back. He insists that the average person gets their mail delivered somewhere else and I am just being nosy. I'm concerned he's not ready for the sharing of his life with mine, and his need for secrecy.

That doesn't sound right. He must be hiding something.

Darlin', it sounds like you and he didn't really get to know one another before you got married. It is NOT true that the average person gets their mail delivered elsewhere. The dude is hiding something from you and it's likely to be damaging to the relationship. You'll need to decide, like soon, if you can live with this level of mistrust/secrecy on his part, 'cause he WILL NOT change.

I would be more suspicious if it were a PO
box, but (depending on Mom) he's not likely
to be getting questionable mail sent for
her inspection. Sounds more like someone who
really doesn't want to cut that tie with

that is not usually the case, he could be trying to hide something from you or he could just have a mom complex, where he likes having his mom doing stuff for him.

He's definately hiding something. Hard to tell what though...it might not be another girl, maybe he's not being truthful about what he does for a living. Or maybe he's got debt collectors sending him things all the time and doesn't want you to know how broke he is. Or maybe he gets porn mags and doesn't want you to know he's secretely addicted to porn. You just never can be too sure!

that is a touchy one because you can't make him change his address. I would say the following "honey, I have a concern about your mail. I don't care what other people do but I care what you do and the fact that your mail goes to your mom's house causes me to not trust you. I don;'t want to not trust you so if you want to help me with my trust, you'll change the address", It's that simple. people that love each other respect each other and don't want to do things that hurt each other. This is clearly hurtful. You feel mistrust, secrecy and other things, He should work on doing whatever it takes so you don't feel this way. this is perfectly rational on your part.

I dont think there is an issue here. Guys are by far the worst creatures of habit. If he's been doing it that way for a long time then he's not going to want to change it. I think you might be reading too much in to it. Besides guys are also control freaks, I myself find myself contemplating sending my mail somewhere else. Its not that he doesnt want you to see it, Its just that he wants to get to it first. My fiance had a terrible habit of opening my mail before I ever see it. I pay the bills yet I cant ever seem to find them. Dont worry this is just a control mechanism.

Possibly hiding something or he's just a momma's boy. My ex husband kinda did the same stuff and everytime an important decision was to be made he asked his mother not me for advice. Either way you need to discuss the situation with him and find out what's going on for your own sake and the sake of the marriage.
