Um, how unusual is this for same-sex couples?

My wife and I share a gynecologist. When her name came up on my health plan, I thought, "Wow, it sounds familiar," and then I realized who I'd set up an appointment with, and dang it, she's good. Our closest friends laugh and joke about it.

I just wondered, do other female couples do this? How about you male couples--same urologist? What about same general practitioner, dentist, or other kind of doctor?

And how does it work for you? My wife and I feel like kids comparing notes and getting our story straight before going to the principal's office!

Oh, we're honest--it's just that women sometimes get asked very intimate questions by their gynos.

My partner and I do not share the same doctors, but it's not because of not wanting to. Her health requirements need more specialists and my health plan is totally different. But we often go to each other's appointments and all our doctors are aware of our relationship. Sounds like you two can have fun with it and as long as you've both signed the required form that says she can discuss health issues with each partner (like is required in this state) hey! you've got the best of both worlds. Any doctor that knows you both "intimately inside and out" (hee hee) is an asset.

Hehe--sounds like a fun situation to me. I say if the doc's great, use her! Except for a psychiatrist--that could get kind of weird.

My lover and I have many docs in common..so what? I don't see the problem here. And we do not compare notes...see no reason to do that. I would hope you are honest with your doctors, otherwise, you will not get the treatment (s) you may need. good luck
