Can't connect new computer to my XP Network -- Driving me crazy..?

This is awfully simple. Connected via ethernet, Have internet access.

Went: Start -- My Network Places -- and ran the "Setup home or small office network" Wizard -- No problems there.

Gave the computer a name and added it to our workgroup (Right click 'My Computer', Properties, Name Tab)

Went to new comp and tried to share out it's folders.. No problem.

New computer shows up in the Network as one of the workgroup computers.

BUT -- When I try to access the new computer from any of the other workstations I am told that:

//Laptop is not accessible. You may not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the network admin to find out if you have access permission.

I haven't added a PC to a network in a while, but come on now.. This should be very easy.

What the heck am I missing, or doing wrong?

HELP!!!!!!

must have exact user name and password on both machine must match!! then it should work. if not right click the shared folder and go to properties. then click share and then do permissions. and add your user name to the list and click the boxes to have full rights. then it will work 100%

Inside of your network places or network neighborhood, right click on the computer you want to access files on. Click on properties.

Does it give you a link that says log in as? If yes, then log in as a user account on that system that has admin rights.

sometimes your anti-virus program can block your connection; however your problem usually comes from the windows firewall. go to your
control panel> Windows Firewall
click on Change Settings
and under the Exceptions tab make sure "File and Printer Sharing" is checked. that should work.... hopefully
if not, try disabling your antivirus and try that.

Set up your network using the administrator account having
all privileges on its settings

Must have the same workgroup name with other computers on the network.

Must set up the IP Address for each computer with the same
subnet mask

Check it it has different IP address for the host and the other workstation.
ex server 192.0.0.1
workstation 1 192.0.0.2
workstation 2 192.0.0.3

File Sharing must have full accessed, supplied with a username and a password.
