State pensions?

I would like to share the wonderful news that i received from the government, they have informed me that my state pension will be going up from 拢61 per week to 拢62.50 per week.. My council tax is going up by approx over 拢1 per week my water rates are up over a 拢1 per week Gas&electricity all up by the same amount.. and no i don't get any rebates, and yes my main diet is grass, i find that if you boil the grass and add an Oxo cube you can sustain yourself...I have just found out that about 28% of my council tax is to pay councilors a weekly wage and make a contribution to their personal pension..i must pay towards their pension whilst unable to afford to buy myself a tin of Lentil soup...I was one of the people who voted this government in, i must have eaten to much grass that day, Vote Labour you know it makes sense, everybody bar the chosen will be able to eat grass....Remember the labour ministers who on entering office were middle class socialists fighting for the working man, now the same Labour ministers have all got bulging bank accounts, whilst the workingman gets weaker and weaker...(Oh to be in England now that Labours there) Goodby for now i have noticed the grass as grown an extra 2 inches this week... Thank you my wonderful Government...Dave

If you save up carefully under this government, you just might afford two boiled eggs with your toast on Sunday.. Good luck.. And remember you should be cheerful - it's going to get a lot worse for the rest.

your lucky you've got a lawn, what about those who haven't ? lets face it any government/councillor we elect has no interest in the ordinary man (woman) so long as they are feeding their bank accounts that's all they care about. I do feel sorry for the pensioners of this country, they are treated like a drain on society, rather than with decency and respect, but there are a lot of you out there and you should start your own web site and get your act together as you could have a strong voice and it wont be too long before the next elections, so make it count and make the government listen to you. They say the love of power corrupts.
Makes me wonder why this so called democracy even allows a party leader to remain so after re-election . The leader should change if the party wins consecutive elections. The British people at the end of the day vote for the party, and not for its leader! And the shorter those leaders are in power positions at the top, the less chance their would be of them being corrupted.

When the labour party announced they were 'The party of the people, for the people' in 1997 I got suckered in as well.
I did not get suckered in by them at the last 2 elections and I was surprised that they still clung to power.
I was sorely disappointed to find out that they are just Tories in disguise.
Heres hoping that the people finally realise that the labour party are only out for what they can get for themselves and b*ll*cks to everyone else.
As for being the party of the workers...well..!!!

Tell me when you were working as an old labour supporter did you really believe if you paid your union dues and got people into power that they would look after you as well as themselves?

Always expect someone else to do your thinking for you, you'll have to hope the Tories care more about the elderly than Labour do.
