Have you been charged by your bank? It is now illegal..get your money back.?

I have just been told that bank charges over 拢12 are illegal so i thought id share my info with you.

If you have ever been charged for going over your overdraft, late payment charges or anything else? Read this and get your money back...

"Charges for late payments on credit cards, typically 拢20-拢25, were yesterday (6/04/06) declared illegal by the Office of Fair Trading, which ordered banks to slash fees to a maximum of 拢12 - and cut charges for bounced cheques and unauthorised overdrafts to similar levels"

i thought about that (the bank closing the account). But then again if the oft say a fair charge is 拢12, dont the banks have to abide by the law? their terms ands conditons are illegal.

Go to Govan Law Centre's website, they give you a standard letter to send to your bank. I got 拢50 in charges back within 2 weeks. Believe me it can be done. They will tell you it is a "gesture of goodwill " but they don't have a leg to stand on. The testamonials on that website will blow your mind, people have got back thousands of pounds going back years, using the letter they recommend,

Yeah damn banks bleed me dry, take 拢35 for going slightly over ,y limit means I am down the next month, and get hit again!

thanks for that, its about time they did something about it.

OK the way i understand this is if you think the charges are unfair then you can sue for your money back but then the bank will close the account because you no longer agree to there terms and conditions.
