Are there ANY Retail jobs that hire Full-Time non-management?

I've been looking for a job for about 7+ months now. I have over 2 years of Retail experience and 3 years of Customer Service/Cashier experience. I'm not the most experienced person in the world, I do know that...lots of people have 10-15 years of Retail experience. However...why is it SO hard to find a Full-Time Retail job?

Are there ANY Retail places that hire Full-Time non-management associates outright? Everything that I have come across is part-time...20ish hours. That won't cut it, though. I know that a lot of people are also in the same position...and jobs are scarce.

I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Any ideas of places to try? My longest experience was with Office Depot as a Stocker/sales associate.

I've applied Staples, OfficeMax, PetSmart, WalMart, Sam's Club, Costco, Circuit City, InkStop, CartridgeWorld...and many other places. Haven't gotten a call from them.

Or, if I do get a call from them... it's usually some location 50 miles from where I am that I can't make it to every day - not the locations that I specifically applied for.

I've interviewed with Macy's...all they have is very low hour, crap part-time jobs that probably aren't even solid past the holidays. I was going to go for an interview at Circuit City today. The stupid manager didn't write my name and the time of the interview down a week ago when she called me, so I basically went about 20 one-way miles and ended up coming back home without an interview. It's rescheduled for tomorrow...if the lady is competent enough to do it tomorrow. She bombed out on her own interview...and Circuit City apparently requires 3 interviews. For such a "secure" company...they sure are idiots. I called and spoke to her manager about that...and asked if the same thing is going to happen tomorrow.

I really need Full-Time...and I know others do, too. What places hire for it?

A friend of mine works full time at a Michael's art supply store outside of Atlanta... I'm actually surprised none of those places you've mentioned had full-time positions... my best advice would be to call them and follow up on your applications. I don't know where in Atlanta you live, but if you live in midtown there's always Ikea... Just stick with bigger stores, they're more likely to have open full-time positions. And check out craigslist.com... that's usually pretty helpful. Good luck!!

It would be helpful to know what area you're looking for a job in... I live just north of Atlanta, feel free to email me if you need some help brainstorming!!

Yes go apply for a full time retail position at Discount Tire Company. You would work up front and sell the tires, they are full time positions.

School is about to start and people will be rushing to get last minute school supplies. You might try being in the right place at the right time and offer to have a completely open schedule. I started at Target last year right before school was about to start and they really needed help. I would guess that Wal-Mart, Office Depot, K-Mart, Dollar Stores and Office max probably also have a rush and it might be worth it to apply again a few weeks before school starts.
