I have a bill at the dentist office from when i was 16 that my mom never paid.? |
Now the office won't make me an appointment until the $80 bill is paid. Can they deny me service since i was underage at the time and I am now 20 years old. They said I'm not responsible for the bill but the dentist won't see me until it is paid. So pretty much they are saying I am responsible for the bill. Is this right? They have the right to deny service to anyone at private offices. If I was you I'd just go ahead and pay the bill or find a new dentist. You might even be able to talk to them and explain the situation and set up a payment plan and you could pay part now and the rest in monthly payments. Or you could just ask your mom for the money since it was her responsibility at the time anyway. I think she should have to pay for it and not you anyway but if she refuses I'd do like I said earlier. But maybe you and your mom could come to some kind of an agreement and she could pay half and you could pay half. Either way if it's not paid the dentist won't see you and although it doesn't see right, put yourself in his shoes. He's a working person like anyone else who just wants to get paid. He just happens to get paid considerably better than the average person when those that chose to pay him, lol. I'd do the same thing if I were him, sorry. Right.... you are not responsible so they won't sue you, send you to collections or put it on your credit. Your mother is the one responsible. no they are saying you MUM is responsible....ppl dont work for free...she should pay it. Why has she not paid it, unless shes planning to try and get it for free? in which case shes in the wrong and they are right to deny you treatment. I wouldn't do business with you unless you paid. Sure, it's your mom's debt, but it was for service they rendered to you. I think they are doing the smart thing, good for them. The dentist has a right to see or not to see a client. Since you received service, you should pay your provider. |
