Can I install Microsoft Word 2007?

I have Windows XP. I currently have Microsoft Office 2003 installed. I'm trying to install Office 2007, but it says I have to get Service Pack 2 first. But, I've been searching all over the place and can't find SP2, I even went to the Microsoft's home page and I couldn't download it. How can I get Office 2007 onto my computer?

Office XP Update: Service Pack 2 (SP2) can be downloaded free at the following address:

http://www.download.com/Office-XP-Update...

Other downloads can be found at
http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.html?q...

Go to Start > Windows Update on your desktop. You will be directed to the Windows Update page, where you should be notified of all the updates that you can download, including Service Pack 3 (if you have a genuine version of Windows XP). Download all the updates, and your PC will be ready for Office 2007 after a restart.
:)

In case you don't have a genuine copy of Windows, you can grab the free OpenOffice.org, which has all the features of Microsoft Office. The interface isn't much sleek, but all the features that you need (including some not present in Office!) are right in there.

:)

You don't HAVE to get it from microsoft, there are other websites who have the download available, no questions asked.
Just google Windows Service Pack 2, there should be 4, 5 websites with it to download.
My first choice would be:

SP2 should improve alot your windows, so you should be as happy to get SP2 as to get Word 2007.

You can use Windows Update (it's in your start menu) to install SP2 and then you will be able to install Office 2007.

Or directly, XP SP2 is here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

or their latest release, SP3 update is here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

SP3 should update even if you haven't done SP2 yet and will bring a load more fixes.

This is the direct link to install XP-SP2

Try uninstalling 2003 first.

I think the SP2 stuff is included or is not relevant to XP. I ran into the same thing but I can't remember exactly what I did.

if your copy of XP is legal you can use the update feature to get SP2 from Microsoft
