USPS lost my mail?

USPS lost my graduation certificate that was mailed from Kingsville, Texas. I have filed a complaint by calling the 1-800-ASK-USPS but they have not been of great help. The university mailed the certificate on May27th 2008 and I still have not recieved it. I called up the university and they told me that it was a certified mail and gave me the confirmation number. When I track it, all I get is that the package was accepted at Kingsville, TX location on May27th. There is no further information till date. The USPS folks havnt been helpful either. When I lodged the complaint they said I would get a call soon and I did get one but from our local post office. They said they have not got a certificate and asked me to contact the TX post office since there is no tracking available since being accepted at TX office. Now the customer service rep say they cant help me but to wait till the certificate is found. There is no insurance on the certificate. What do I do? It costed be $50 to order one.

Nothing. They are full of **** and steal thing. They stole a text book I was selling back to a website and a check my mom sent me.

The school can put a tracer on the item from their end. The investigation takes about 6 weeks and generally the item has turned up by then. Usually when something like this happens the address has been defaced and it unreadable and it sitting in a tub somewhere until someone comes looking for it.

If you have the certified number, call the originating post office and ask to have the tracer put on it. It will probably get done more quickly if you do it yourself rather than waiting for the school to do it.
