How can I find my tracking number?

I bought an item off ebay and it didn't work so I have to send the item back in order to get a refund. I went to the post office today and sent the item with USPS Priority Mail Service. In order to get the refund, I have to give PayPal a tracking number for proof that I sent the item back. But, all I got after mailing the item was a U.S. Post Service Delivery Confirmation Receipt with a delivery confirmation number on it. I didn't get any tracking number or anything. I've tried entering this delivery confirmation number on PayPal but it says the tracking number was invalid format. So I NEED the tracking number, not the delivery confirmation number i guess. I went to the USPS website and went to Track & Confirm in hopes that if I entered this delivery confirmation number, I'd be able to get a tracking number. But on the USPS site it says enter Label/Reciept Number, so I just put in this delivery confirmation number (only number i have!!) and it says there's no record.

The delivery confirmation number is your tracking. UPS calls it a tracking number.
