So this is a HP Pavilion dv6700t Laptop it will cost about $1500 and I will use it mainly for college but also to play Blu ray and some minor games

I don't think you need 64-bit vista. 32-bit vista can support up to 3gb of RAM. So you can either downgrade to 32-bit vista or upgrade your ram to 4gb

do you need blu ray? if not get the dv6700z. That is what i have right now, i bought it custom three weeks ago. same specs, but 160gb hard drive and 32-bit os. if your not going with 4gb ram, get the 32-bit os. you need the amd processor because it outperforms intel by a huge amount. it is in the top 13% for performance according to pcpitstop.com when i got the computer and ran a test on it. and those tests compare it to gaming computers and desktops, so it's really fast.

the video IS lacking though... only 93.4MP/sec which is in the bottom 38% of computers.

Sounds like a real kicker system. Should give great service and do just about anything you want.

Good enough dude, make sure you take the complete care warranty on that. Rest should be fine....All the best
