We Filed Taxes in Jan with Injured spouse form due to my past debt received all of refund back.? |
Check IRS webpage for stimulus payment and it said that it was due to be mailed out May 23 and I expected 1/2 of it back Received a letter in the mail today from Financial Management Service saying that the entire stimulus was to be taken? So after I spent almost a hour on hold with the IRS the guy told me the injured spouse 8379 was never accounted for even though I filed it with the 1040A? Gave me a IRS number to call which said the office was "closed" (t's 400pm here) Im ready to pull my hair out Yes I got the letter from the IRS saying I was getting 1500 back and then the letter from the Financial Management Services saying that all of it was being taken. I just posted about this myself as I am wondering what is the hold up on mine. I am the injured spouse and my 8379 was filed with my 2007 return. I received the letter telling me what we are receiving but I do not have a check yet. Did you get the letter stating what you were getting back and afterward received a letter from Financial Management Service? I receieved a letter stating that they took the whole amount also. I called the IRS at around 8 am and got through and said they would research it. I then received a letter in the mail saying to mail them another COPY of the 8379. I did this last week and haven't heard any more. Maybe try to mail another one Think of it this way. Your rebate will make it easier and faster to pay off your spouse's debt. Thus, reducing penalties and interest. |
