I need to sell a lot of things quickly - Ebay/Craigslist/Tag sale NOT possible.?

My parents and I have a storage unit that has a lot of halfway decent stuff in it, including an air hockey table, an office desk, unopened, expensive power tools, and other odds and ends.

We can't afford the storage unit any longer - my father was recently diagnoced with cancer and even with insurance all the bills are starting to mount up, so we'd like to emtpy the unit as quickly as possible, and have that extra money every month to cover the gas, copays, deductibles, etc.

We live in a very small apartment and none of us are healthy enough to move any of the items we'd like to sell, and we don't have time to list everything separately, like we'd have to with ebay. The unit is more than an hour's drive from where we live now.

I'd like to know if there's any sort of service we can get that will go to the unit with us, look everything over and buy all or most of it at once.

Auctioneers and Thrift Shops are a good place to start. You can go to www.anywho.com and query for a particular area.

Look in the yellow pages under (Auctioneers General) and give them a call.
Most of them come to your home and storage unit and value your goods and if you are happy the the prices they take them away and auction them off.

Be warned you wont get top dollar for your goods because the auctioneer takes some of the profits. But the good thing is, they get rid of the things quickly.

PS. Sorry to hear about your father.

Well not sure about buying it, but you if you list it on your local freecycle list, you might be able to find someone to come take it for free so the storage place doesn't charge you for having to get rid of it for you...

You might also place an ad stating you have a storage unit full of stuff and buyer must take all of it or none of it for $199.00 or something... Maybe list the big-ticket items...

Try free-cycle as in an earlier post or a pawn shop
As a cancer survivor myself
DON'T GIVE UP
I went from stage 0 in February 2001 to stage 4 in July 2001
I had 22 hours of surgery just to return home on 9/11/2001
Followed up with radiation that lasted from 7-45 minutes.
I lost 65 pounds in the hospital, my right side of the jaw was removed, as well my soft palate and lympth nodes.
remember DON'T give up hope
best of luck to your dad

If you have a local pawn shop see if they can help you out, chances are you wont get much for it, but it's more than 0.

I put an ad online, through our state newspaper's website. I put "Lots of items for sale, under $100 for all!" So, you just put your price......
