Child Support Collection Agency's, do they work?

Has anyone ever used a child support collection agency and gotten positive results? I've had a case open with the District Attorneys Office for over 7 years but it hasn鈥檛 gotten me very far. Are these types of services legit? There are so many of them on the internet and of course they all have fee's, some higher than others but since he now owes $72,000+, at this point I'm not sure that I have anything to loose. I鈥檝e been financially caring for my children by myself thus far but I just don鈥檛 think its fair that he doesn鈥檛 have to take some financial responsibility...

I paid child support to my ex-husband. I done it voluntarily, however, I did have a case worker at the local Department of Jobs and Family Services. That was set up through the court when we got our divorce. I know that if you have a case worker, and your ex-spouse does not pay, he/she will have their drivers license suspended, paycheck garnished, and possible jail time. I always had my child support payment taken directly out of my paycheck. You may want to check with your local Department of Jobs and Family Services and see if they can help you out.

I've not had any experience with child support collection agencies, but I would think their main objective is to collect money for them and not really care about how that affects you. I hired an attorney on a contingency basis. If I remember correctly he charged me 25% of what he collected, which might seem like a lot, but he did put a lot of work into it and it was 75% more than I had before I hired him.
