Has anyone ever used Merry Maids?

I'm looking for a good housecleaning service to come in maybe once a week. We have a Merry Maids office near my house and I was thinking of calling them. I am just wondering if they do a good job and if they are reasonably priced. Thanks for any input!

LOL...as said here..I fired 3 of them from stealing from my kids change jar......They hire alot of people and pay them sub standard wages, so they do get alot of illegal hirings from it....I would never recomend them...My realtor associated with Coldwell Bankers had a similar situation as well..only it involved the liquor cabinet

I own a small cleaning company. I have 1 girl that helps me, SHe used to work for Merry Maids. She said the girls snooped through peoples stuff and some of them stole. The thing with merry maids is that you never know who is going to be in our house cleaning. If I were you, than I would stick to either an independant housecleaner or a small service like mine. Its more personable, and you have the same person in your house everytime. Plus we charge less, because generally we arent paying anyone. You can find alot of advertisements on Craigslist under household services, in your area.

I heard the same thing about Merry Maids and stealing although I don't have any first hand knowledge. ...I'd look for someone doing it from home, a retiree will sometimes do that on the side. Ask around...
