Two different job industries: conflict of interest?

I know it may depend on the company's policy, but if I have two jobs that are totally different from each other, in one I'm an office assistant, in the other I'm customer service, would that be considered conflict of interest?

No, I don't think it would be a conflict of interest unless the companies you work for are vying with each other for business. And even then you would be okay so long as neither company has an employment policy on second jobs with competitors. Usually it's only a conflict of interest when one of your job detracts from the other job. For instance, working with direct competitors. Or in another instance, it would be a conflict of interest if you benefit in one position by means of your OTHER position. For example: if you work for a company as a salesman in one job selling whatever and your second job is with another company deciding which vendors to hire (purchasing agent) -- as purchasing agent, you could choose to purchase items from yourself, as salesman at your other job, netting that company money but also yourself a commission. I hope I've worded that right for it to make sense.

Anyway, in the jobs you have now, it does not sound like a conflict of interest. But that's only my opinion without knowing the details of the companies you work for.

it could be, it really does all depend on the contract. Some contract state you can work for no other company regardless of the field.
