I'm buying a new computer soon with these specs, what do U think of them, do U think the're good?

HP M8430F
4 yr service plan
4 gig USB Memory stick
Nero 8 Ultimate
Microsoft Office

And the salesman @ Future Shop today also told me that I can record TV programs into my new computer and do whateve I want with em.
Does this sound like a good deal?

well the default for that is a 2.4ghz Quad core so thats amazing.... 4gigs ram default, aswell as a 750gig hdd and a piece of crap GPU "GeForce 8500GT"

if your not buying for PC gaming and using it as a media center then your beyond what i would recommend...

if you want to Game this would have trouble running Crysis or Bioshock... id say upgrade the GPU to an 8800GT if you can for gaming....

also unless it has a tv card installed the salesman lied to you, if it DOES make sure it can receive/decode digital signals or after 09 its just a piece of silicon wasting space..

those arent computer specs those are extra componets or programs that come with the new comp. and by the way dont buy the 4yr service plan. if you have any problems with your comp. the manufactures warenty will be ok enough and usually if it is defective you will notice right away and service plans are just way to get at your hard earned money.and most pc problems that do occur are software releated and arent covered under the warrenty program only parts. and most times the parts are cheaper than the software issues.

that would be a great setup for most applications; as the other person said, it is a little skimpy if you want to run hi-def games like Bioshock, Crysis (especially Crysis!!), etc.

If you only want stuff like half-life 2 or the like, it should be fine.

If you're not into the gaming thing, this could run adobe stuff, along with whatever else you want very well.

Good choice for a pre-made system.
