No more free smtp mail from yahoo uk?

So far, I have been using the service with microsoft office outlook 2003 or 2007, just a few weeks ago, I could not send my emails from the email client with yahoo uk accounts but receiving emails, I'm afraid they have cancelled the free smtp service that are need to pay.

Yes you need to pay for yahoo mail plus because
yahoo has upgraded its servers. You will need to make a small change to your Yahoo! Mail Incoming Mail and outgoing mail servers address by adding the word "plus" as below.
* Incoming mail server (pop3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
* Outgoing mail server (SMPT) : plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk

As far as I can make out you can still use the free version of uk.yahoo mail - both to receive and to send. That said, yahoo does indeed seem to have faffed around with its servers.

As a result those used by the free version (and this concerns the smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk server in particular) get so clogged up at peak times it has become a real pain to send mails from an external email client (outlook, thunderbird etc). The SMTP connection is highly erratic and can often take ages (I just spend 1 hour trying to send 1 email).

It's a good trick to get more people to sign up for their paid service - and if you don't want to do that you need bags of patience and resend, resend, resend, resend, resend........
