Finding a person using their SSN, full name, and some other details.?

I'm tracking down some old military friends.

One of them no one seems to have contact with anymore.

BUT, a friend who is still in has access too the missing friends...

Full name (obviously)
SSN [social security number]
At least two past addresses (pre-service, and one post service in a college town)
DoB [date of birth]
and some other minor details (college attended and grad date, from GIbill info)

SO how can we use this information, to track our friend down?

We considered contacting the alumni office at the college, or possibly sending a letter to the known addresses and hoping it gets forwarded. Can we actually contactthe USPS and ask if they have a new address on the person? Any other ways?

You'd think with this much info, we'd be able to find them!!!

We're already going to try the ways I listed anyway... so mostly here I'm looking for alternative ideas, or places (preferably FREE) or things we could use to find them.

You can try the buddy finder at Military.com or , if you have an address or just a state, the White Pages.

I don't think you should use anybody's private information to try to find them. The family of that person is suppose to know he/she private information. I really don't know how it got to your hands and not his/her families hands. If this person is missing, the family probably already have informed the police or you should contact police. No need for you to do it unless that person has no family.

If they were Air Force, you can check the AFPC web site as they have information on how to do just what you are asking.

i really think the military could track him down for you but besides that keep working hard you will find him and you will have a good time with him good luck my friend
