Can i get my passport in 3 weeks threw the US post office? |
I am traveling to Mexico on May 1 and i have not gotten my passport can i go to the post office and get it threw the expedited service or can i only get that services at the passport agancy? You can apply THROUGH the post office, pay the fee for expediting and also pay the express mail fees. Then it takes 2 to 3 weeks to get the passport...usually not as long as 3, but you never know. If you submit your application tomorrow...you MIGHT get it back in time. See 1st site below for all info and to print out the forms. If you live near a passport agency ( see 2nd site) , you can wait till 2 weeks before you must travel, call for an app't, go, wait, and get your passport the same day. Or you can use one of the on-line fast passport services and pay a hefty fee for them to do this for you. I presume you are FLYING to Mexico, as you do not need a passport to travel to Mexico by land. See 3rd site. It took 8 weeks for ours to arrive It took me 5 weeks to get mine so I can go to Italy. Passport prices are supposed to be going up and now you need one to go to Canada so there are a lot of people right now trying to beat the price increase and get ready for their summer vacations, hence the delays. (they can only do so much in a work day.) I suggest getting your passport with the express service to be extra sure you get it. It will cost more but remember no passport means no go.
