How do i speak up for myself?

I work were I am always talking to people. I am not the only customer service rep. I sit up front where they need to talk to me first. People come in looking for the other reps. and I tell them there out but they still walking all the way into the office. How can I tell them to stop with out being rude? If they have any questions that is what I am here for? (and it the same people everytime)

You have to be confident when you speak to them not tentative. If you want them to treat you as the one responsible you have to start treating yourself as one.. make eye contact and dont break it. be firm not rude. if they still waiver. Be calm and keep repeating that u are the one. They should get the idea that u mean business and are the one to talk to.

Your company needs to post a sign at the front desk. "No unattended visitors permitted". As soon as they see that, you should tell them that you can help them.

You..... Mr. Jones is out of the office sir, may I take a message for him?

No, that's OK... I'll just take a walk around to see if anyone else can help me..

You.....Oh Mr. Smith, I would appreciate that you do not do that, it is against company policies to have clients around, unescorded. You understand, sir.. If management see's clients walking without any reps, I get repremanded...
