We need to the access to the office PC when we are on the road with my Laptop,?

We are a small company and cant afford big fancy server units. is there some sort of secure network or service we can use?

there are various web sites that let you connect to your pc whereever you go just gooogle them but microsofts remote connection lets you type in an ip and a password and can remote acess a pc but i've never tried it with a computer on a different network
