I Have Been Chose By The Office of National Statistics?

I have been given a letter marked "on her majestys service"

Asking me to take part in a National Statistics survey

Is it compulsory.

I dont think its a scam

Because the website they have given me is the official - found on google

statistics.gov.uk

I remember having to fill them in a few years ago. I think they send you one a month for 3 or 4 months. From what I remember you do have to fill it in and they keep sending you reminders and threaten to fine you if you don't respond. If you are unsure check out their website:

I think you meant you have been "chosen".
Is there a, "contact us" link on the website? Doubtless there is and if so do that and ask if it is compulsory. I doubt it is, only the 10 yearly census is usually.

Sounds like a scam. As far as I know the term "On Her Majesty's Service" has not appeared on envelopes for years.

You could always contact them to check, don't use any contact number on the bumph, look here: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/email.asp

No it's not compulsary - they won't behead you if your choose not to take part.
